0. Writing solidifies your idea. What's even more surprising is I was not fully understanding my project before writing paper (meticulously).

When I read what B wrote, it was hard to find a sentence or even a word to cut. Every sentence and word has a reason to be written. Still, we should try to remain critical enough so that you can find what your advisor is missing or wrong. At the end of the day, he/she is a human and they are not supposed to know more about your project that you do.

When B suggests, it is not just suggesting.

- This is my paper. It is too obvious to mention it, but sometimes deep inside your mind (especially if you are a first year phd student), you are likely to think you might feel less responsible for your paper. In other words, you rely on your advisor more than you are supposed to do. One way to compromise this misbelief is always trying to think that you are taking possible less responsibility than you should have.

- Be strategic to utilize advisor at full capacity. Your advisor might have less available time that he/she can put on your paper as deadline becomes closer. To get higher quality feedback on your paper, ask for it early.

My advisor's consistency inspired me. I couldn't be less consistent. That does not make sense.
